I recently compared the Gen 4 G30, a G30 SF, and a G30s all side by side. All were new in the box, were blue labels and were priced exactly the same.

If you aren't going to carry and are just going to use it for range or home use, the 30 with it's heavier slide is nicer to shoot. Like. But I prefer the G30S for 2 reasons: It carries 4 more rounds, and it fits my hand better. I feel less of a need to carry a spare mag with the G30S than I did with the G36. Both shot/shoot the same, equally well for me.Looking back, I kinda wish I would've ordered the G30SF. But, I think I'll be really happy with the 30S. The G30S and the G30SF share the same frame. The G30S has a thinner slide, so you experience more felt recoil compared to the G30. It's subjective so I'm not sure to explain how much more recoil you will feel. The G30S is about 3.5oz lighter than the G30, owing to the thinner slide.
